Got the live action Ghost in the Shell movie for 8 bucks from the local Family Video. I figure I'll get to it eventually.

Almost bought John Wick 2 for the same price, but they didn't have the first one for sale and I don't wanna watch it out of order.

I may not give a shit about spoilers, but I don't like watching stuff like this out of order. lol

Local used media store has a Buy Two, Get One free sale on used DVD movies and TV shows. To prepare for October, I skimmed some old favorites off the top of their horror DVD shelf for just over tenbux.

Freddy Vs. Jason (I've always enjoyed this movie since walking into the theater and seeing a shameless set of giant lunghammers on the screen)
The Prophecy Collection (four movies, I only wanted the first - but I'm genuinely curious about the fourth with Tony Todd)
Texas Chainsaw Massacre 2 (reminds me of old family vacations to the backwoods of Pennsylvania, having relatives who grew up just down the road from the real life inspiration for Silent Hill. . . was interesting)

Yesterday I picked up Mama and The Machinist. Since I was going to see the second feature film (It) from Mama's director, I figured I'd better man up (get the depends and ambien) and see his first fright fest. Caught The Machinist in theaters years ago and have been meaning to pick it up since Mark Pellington is a fantastic director who makes movies with unconventional themes, and less conventional endings.

I love the horror genre, but as I've aged I've become more susceptible to being spooked out by movies, novels, and stories.

Just got this thingie for 10 bucks at a yard sale. kthx

It's been YEARS since I've played, but hey. It's got MIDI ports, so that's something. It also came with a stand, but my mother snagged that part. :p

Got one of these at WallyWorld for about 4 bucks... mostly for two reasons.

#1) For the camper when it's finally finished.
#2) I've seen something similar at the Dollar Tree for, well, a dollar. I'm going to get one of THOSE so I can directly compare them.

Also got one of these at the Dollar Tree. They work pretty good for what they are. Ended up getting a few more of them for my parents because the power does occasionally go out there. hehe

... and that prompted me to get this Ozark Trail lantern for 10 bucks. No options on it or anything, just a super basic 300 lumen thing. On/off and runs off 4 D batteries.

I have one of those stick on lights in my bookcase. Makes changing games a breeze at night.

Half Price Books clearance sale! Everything TWO DOLLAH!

Picked up the first seven volumes of Death Note an import Death Note / Hikaru No Go artbook, and. . . I know it was pretty lamentable - but I enjoyed some parts of it - a Green Lantern movie production book.

Yep. The movie could have been better, but it had equal parts things I hated (Parallax as space diarrhea) and a lot of fan service (if you read the comics - many cool versions of the Green Lantern Corps). I cannot fully hate a movie that has the audacity to show one of my favorite Lanterns - the tiny hero insect B'zzd on the silver screen. The making of book has lots of great shots of concept art and renders for the esoteric lanterns and Mark Strong as Sinestro.

I really would love to see the franchise rebooted as a Green Lantern Corps movie with John Stewart and Guy Gardner. Bring back Mark Strong as Sinestro. I'd go see that.

Gotted some Steam stuffs on sale...

Cinemaware Anthology: 1986-1991 (has emulated Amiga and MS-DOS versions of the games) - $2
Dead Effect 2 - I think it was $4. Not a great game by any means, and isn't optimized for shit. But for 4 bucks? Why not.

Also got the old "It" miniseries on DVD, though I'm going to get the Blu-Ray first chance I get. I can deal with it being on DVD, I can't deal with the fact that they zoomed in on the original 4:3 picture to make it 16:9. -_-

Just gotted Mortal Kombat Komplete Edition and Injustice: Gods Among Us for 5 bucks each.

I don't really know why since I haven't liked, well, ANY modern fighting games. lol

I really want to replace my current Apple TV with the newly released 4K version and then I find out it won't do YouTube in 4K because it doesn't the codec that Google used. WTF???

    Dammit Apple and Google. :(

Well - they were five bucks.

Even though I despise the house of Boon, I couldn't make a saving roll against the Injustass GotY edition when I saw it in the Target clearance bin a couple years back. Played the game and it was the usual clunky trash Boon and company crap out, but damn it. . . DC media outside of the comics and TV shows is tough to love.

    Awful games. Awful movies.

I so desperately want a good DC movie (another great Superman before I'm too old to live) and one competent game, although I could pass on the game since vidya isn't really that much of a priority anymore. :p

Pulled the trigger on Twilight Samurai on Bluray tonight. Prices dropped about $20 down to $30 range.

Also snagged a copy of The Shrine which dropped to $13 - a recent horror movie set in Poland which I enjoyed, and being a polak - it's fun to see Polish things in popular media.

And an Overstreet Price Guide to assist with thinning the comic collection.

I liked the DC movies I've seen so far (Man of Steel, Batman Vs Superman and Suicide Squad) so I can't really say much on that. Sure, they're not perfect by any means, but I liked 'em.

The last time I really played fighting games though... I played Mortal Kombat 2 and Killer Instinct in the arcades at (local) tournament level. Then Mortal Kombat 3 hit and the series hasn't really done it for me ever since. Though I do admit to liking MK: Shaolin Monks.

This is what Korean Collector's Edition of Shadow of War looks like:

    A ring
    A hammer-shaped bottle opener,
And a notepad (of all things)

The notepad is neat. I imagine they intend it for journaling or some similar activity, but a supremely nerdy part of me wants to think some kid used it for their game notes. :p

This is the Lord of the Rings game, right?

Yes! I'm really looking forward to playing it, despite its microtransaction debacle.

Attention Glenn! 4K Bluray in an excellent package exclusive to Best Buy.
